IFSCC 2023 Awards

The International Federation of Societies of Cosmetic Chemists (IFSCC) presents the winners of the IFSCC 2023 Awards announced during the 33rd IFSCC Congress held in Barcelona, from September 4th to 7th, 2023.

IFSCC Basic Research Award

The IFSCC Basic Research Award is awarded at an IFSCC Congress to the presenter of the best Podium presentation pertaining to basic cosmetic research. The winners receive 7,500 Swiss Francs. By accepting the IFSCC Basic Research Award the recipient agrees to submit their paper to both the IFSCC Magazine and the journal of their local Society for publication in the first issue following the Congress.

2023 IFSCC Basic Research Award winner:

Author: ALINE ROBERT-HAZOTTE

Organization: SHISEIDO GROUP EUROPE INNOVATION CENTER (FRANCE)

Paper: DEEP DIVE IN EMOTIONAL COMMUNICATION IN HUMANS: STUDY OF THE TRANSMISSION OF POSITIVE EMOTIONS THROUGH BODY ODORS.

IFSCC Applied Research Award

The IFSCC Applied Research Award is awarded at an IFSCC Congress to the presenter of the best podium presentation pertaining to applied cosmetic research. The award amount is 7,500 Swiss Francs. IFSCC Johann Wiechers Poster Award

The IFSCC Johann Wiechers Poster Award is awarded to the author of the best poster presentation at an IFSCC Congress. The award amount is 2,000 Swiss Francs. By accepting the IFSCC Johann Wiechers Poster Award, the recipient agrees to submit his or her poster as a full paper to both the IFSCC Magazine and the journal of his or her local Society for publication in the first issue following the Congress.

List of finalists of the 2023 IFSCC Johann Wiechers Award:

Lester Conrad Education Prize

The Society of Cosmetic Scientists Nigeria (NICOS) is the winner of the 2023 Lester Conrad Education Prize, voted by the Praesidium as the Society with the best proposed educational program from this year’s applicants. NICOS joined the IFSCC in 2020, with Ms. Grace Abamba as Founding President.

 


Maison G de Navarre Young Scientist Essay Prize

First awarded in 1988, this prize is awarded during an odd-numbered year to enable a young cosmetic scientist to attend an IFSCC Congress. The 2023 prize was an invitation to attend the 2023 IFSCC Congress in Barcelona, Spain, with the cost of travel, accommodation, and registration fees up to, but not exceeding, 5,000 Swiss Francs, being reimbursed by the IFSCC. Any member of a member society of the IFSCC may apply, if they are no more than 35 years of age when they submit their essay.

2023 Maison G de Navarre Young Scientist Essay Prize awarded to:

Organization: DEPARTMENT OF ADVANCED MATERIALS SCIENCE & ENGINEERING, SUNGKYUNKWAN UNIVERSITY (REPUBLIC OF KOREA)

Essay: EVOLUTION OF CLEAN BEAUTY: EXPLORING THE PAST, PRESENT, AND FUTURE.


Rainer Voegeli Travel Grant

Applications are open for the 2024 Rainer Voegeli Travel Grant for students or young scientists (<35 years old on the day they apply) from specified developing countries listed by the United Nations’ Committee for Development Policy. The winner of the travel grant will present their work as a paper or poster at the 2024 IFSCC Congress in Brazil, so will be chosen from applicants who have had an abstract accepted by the Brazil Congress Scientific Committee.

2023 Rainer Voegeli Travel Grant awarded to:
