September 2023 will be the summer month in which Barcelona awaits you to redesign the new paths that will mark the future of cosmetic science.

«Rethinking Beauty Science» will be the theme that will serve as a central axle for dealing with the latest, most current and most relevant scientific topics, while simultaneously laying the foundations of cosmetic research for the following years.

Barcelona, a creative, entrepreneurial city and high-level benchmark in science, arts, culture and Mediterranean gastronomy, will host the 33 IFSSCC Congress, from September 4th to 7th, organized by the SEQC (Spanish Society of Cosmetic Chemists).

An international congress that, with the complicity of good weather, sun, and the Mediterranean Sea, will bring together the main players of the cosmetic research world, with the aim of discovering and presenting the most relevant studies of the present in the field of cosmetic science. Four days in which to explore new avenues of, biological, chemical, instrumental, biotechnological, and physiological knowledge and, aided by the most advanced technology, the areas of blockchain, artificial intelligence, Big data, 3D models, bioengineering.

All this will be enabled through conferences, posters, exhibitions, keynotes, workshops, dinners, cocktails, which will bring together more than 1500 people from the scientific/cosmetic sector.

Rethinking beauty science will be the main objective, grouped into three main categories:

• Rethinking Science: Skin, oral, sun, and hair care: breakthrough technologies for cosmetic developments promoted by recent scientific research. New substances, new functions, new efficacies, new evaluation techniques.
• Rethinking Beauty: Texture, odour and colour, multi-sensoriality. A strong added value to cosmetics, its impact on uses, consumers and marketing. Cosmetic and beauty product experiences, backed up by technology.
• Rethinking Nature: Responsible cosmetic development. What have we learned from nature towards the guaranteeing of safer cosmetic products?.
